Retitled (Since Feeling is First)

The concept of this project was to reinterpret a traditional form (the title page of a book printed in letterpress between the 1500-1800′s) with new content (a modern poem by e.e. cummings).

The poster was recently submitted, along with eleven other prints, as a series to the Type Directors Club (tdc.org) Annual competition and was selected as a winning entry. Of the nearly 1,800 international entries, only 223 were selected. The series, aptly named Retitled, will be on display at the New York opening of the TDC show in July, and throughout the world during the exhibition’s 2012 tour. It will also be featured in the Annual of the Type Directors Club, Typography 33.
