L’été (Summer) – A Short Film

“L’été” (Summer) is my very first short film. The objective was to create a film loosely around the theme of “summer,” and so I decided to create a spoof of a Sixties French movie trailer in the spirit of Jean Luc Godard’s À bout de souffle (Breathless) and Le mépris (Contempt). Since there wasn’t an actual film to promote, I created collages to represent a moment or “scene” in the movie. The theme of the soundtrack is from Serge Gainsbourg’s 69 Anée érotique.

katherine streeter – illustrator

If I had to hire an illustrator for the assigned editorial: “Here We Aren’t, So Quickly” by Jonathan Safran Foer, I would choose Katherine Streeter. The whimsical nature of her collages would go well with the surreal mood and stream-of-consciousness tone of the short story. Plus, the short story deals with the complex relationship between a married couple who are still learning how to be with one another, even after so many years spent together building a home and a family. Streeter’s highly emotive collages would be able to speak to the content of the story and add to its depth of feeling.

Beny’s Delice Branding Campaign

Beny’s Delice is a boulangerie and patisserie located in Brooklyn, NY that offers a traditional French menu of breads, pastries, and savory dishes. The objective was to create a brand that would reflect the boutique’s authentic products, refined ingredients, and friendly atmosphere. A new logo was created and then applied to the stationary (business card, letterhead, envelope, and mailing label), as well as packaging (menu/poster, pastry box, and coffee cup sleeve).
